Our client is a €1.3bn+ main contractor delivering state-of-the-art data centres across Northern and Central Europe. Known for their turnkey delivery model—from design through to commissioning—they’re expanding fast (10–15% growth annually). They’re now building a €500m+ hyperscale facility in Amsterdam and need a Mechanical Construction Manager to lead the mechanical delivery on-site. This is a high-responsibility role where you’ll be steering the mechanical side of a complex build — coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, overseeing safety, and ensuring every installation is delivered to spec, on time, and with zero compromise on quality. What You’ll Be Doing: What You’ll Bring: On Offer:
• Lead day-to-day site activity for all mechanical works — from HVAC to pipework and plant installs.
• Be the client’s go-to on site — communicating clearly, confidently, and professionally.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and ensure all works hit safety and project benchmarks.
• Sequence mechanical installations with the wider project team to stay ahead of schedule.
• Drive procurement of mechanical plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors.
• Support change management — document and cost scope changes, and feed into monthly valuations and final accounts.
• Maintain a rolling two-week lookahead and align labour levels to programme needs.
• Manage subcontractors tightly — drive quality, performance, and accountability.
• Flag risks, variations, and delays proactively to the Project Manager.
• Ensure all delivered materials meet spec and are stored safely and securely.
• Champion site compliance: health & safety, governance, and zero-tolerance for sloppy standards.
• Drive site cleanliness, order, and discipline.
• Work with package managers to develop and improve processes.
• Own cost and programme impacts related to change management.
• A solid mechanical qualification — BEng, HNC, NVQ, or similar.
• Proven track record in mechanical construction management, ideally on large-scale M&E projects.
• Data centre experience? That’s a big advantage.
• Strong leadership, commercial understanding, and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset — someone who gets ahead of problems and makes the job easier for everyone around them.
• Join a recognised leader in the data centre space.
• Work on complex, high-profile projects across the sector.
• A collaborative team culture with real support and opportunity to grow.
• Strong salary and package — reflecting the experience and leadership you bring.
